What Can You Do About Loose Skin After Weight Loss?

In this video I get real about all my loose skin and surgeries. Here’s a few things we covered.

  • My doctor is Dr. Lois Wagstrom. If you live in Nashville I highly recommend her.
  • Water and healthy fats are the KEYS to skin.
  • Make sure you lotion and exfoliate as often as possible.
  • I go to European Wax Center. I LOVE it and they have great lotions and exfoliants. Tell them Corinne Crabtree or Nashville referred you! (Full disclosure I get some wax bucks but trust me, they will go to great use! I love being smooth.)
  • And, waxing is a great way to keep the skin exfoliated. Just FYI. I do my arms, legs, under arms, Brazilian and eye brows.
  • The slower you lose the weight the better your skin will respond to tightening.
  • You can’t start lifting weights too SOON as you lose weight. Don’t WAIT!
  • I recommend hiring a trainer to show you form if need be. Or, I recommend Chalene Extreme as a great beginner lifting series with good form cues.

  • Anna says:

Did you ever post those pics?

  • Melanie says:

I read one of your blogs that talked about lifting heavy. Is it okay to use your own body such as push ups, squats, planks for ‘weight lifting’?

  • Cheryl Metzger says:

As I sit here I realize that seeing your Facebook page was not a coincidence.
I have gained so much weight and used to many the excuses… well this makes me mad so I’m going to comfort myself with food. I feel neglected so I’ll show them, I’ll just eat this – pow right in their face. No one will help, I’ll just sleep and escape.
If he won’t compliment me then why should I even try?????
I listened to several of your pod casts and I am ready to take this thing with all of my excuses, …poor poor me attitude and let me dissolve into a comma … and start with something I can do for the rest of my life.
I know I can drink more water and move. So this is where I’m going to start.
My health being effected by my weight. I am 330 pounds and when I look in the mirror I don’t recognize that person. When I was younger I was a cheerleader in high school and college. I know what it is to feel in shape and I just let go of myself.
I am made me do it, I am responsible for me. So…here goes!!!
