I used to do this all the time.
Start a diet. Think my “life depended on it” or I needed to get my shit together because “I couldn’t keep going like this.”
It made me feel so desperate that I did desperate things.
Eat shit I hated.
Starve myself with low calorie diets that left me feeling physically horrible and weak.
Exercise way beyond what my body could handle.
Cut out healthy food groups because it was the new fad.
I kept trying to create a life I wanted (thin) with a lifestyle that sucked (depriving). I’d lose weight then gain it all back plus some.
If you are like I was you know how painful it is. You think you’ll lose weight and THIS TIME you’ll keep it off.
The problem is you didn’t learn how to lose weight they way you will LIVE your life. You just lost weight to quit having the life you have.
When the diet is over you don’t know what to do. Most of us aren’t good at figuring out how to eat to keep weight off. We’ve only known two things: overeat or lose weight.
The process of losing weight is where you MUST learn the habits of keeping weight off.
