EZ Cardio Day

First, I’m starting a new blog because my old blog didn’t have some of the features I was needing. I hope anyone who was following the old stuff will appreciate this new site just for my diet and exercise information. It seems to be more robust and user friendly.

Today I did cardio only after a tough training week. I was really feeling things this morning so my friend I workout with on the weekends was up for going in the afternoon. This afforded me about 8 extra recovery hours. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but it made all the difference in the world.

First thing I did was 20 minutes of interval training on the stairmaster (level 11 of 20). Afterward, I hit the treadmill for 24 minutes of hill climbs at a 3.8 – 4.5 pace. I varied my pace and tried to keep my heart rate in the 160’s on the hills. 160’s is about 75-80% heart rate zone for me.

Today my diet was not as clean as I would like. For some reason I was craving more carbs than usual. It looked like this:

B – 1 cup of organic oatmeal with wheat germ, blueberries, 1 tbsp. of whipped p butter and 4 egg whites
L – Weight Watcher Macaroni and Cheese Smart One and small bowl of veggie/bean soup
S – Fat free yogurt with a few almonds and 1/2 scoop of protein powder
D – Watermelon, apple slices, and 3/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese
S – Whole wheat egg white sandwich with 2 thin slices of Healthy Choice Ham, sugar free/fat free cinnamon dolce latte (these are so good, and so addicting)

All in all, I pretty much made it with the protein but I was short on my target veggies and heavy in my simple carbs. Tomorrow is a new day and I will certainly do better. My goal is to post my meals so that everyone can get a feel for what I eat on a typical day. One thing I don’t do is measure fruits and veggies. Anything that is relatively good for you I don’t measure. No body got fat OD’ing on fruits and veggies…it’s the other stuff we have to worry about. The other stuff is what I’m anal about measuring and tracking.

The new website looks pretty good. I still have work to do on it, but it looks like I’m close enough to write this month’s Phit-N-Phat newsletter and get it out to the world. I’m ready to launch this new business if for no other reason than to move on to helping people. The business side is not the fun part.

I am going to also try and get my old posts on here. I’m not sure how to do it just yet, but I’ll be working on that and other things this evening.
