This is another blog I love…Seth Godin. He writes for a business perspective but I always read into it about the whole healthy lifestyle. I found him via Beachbody as a coach to learn how to be a better business woman, but I ALWAYS SEEM to find a way to make his blogs speak to me with my diet and fitness.
Your peer group are people with similar dreams, goals and worldviews. They are people who will push you in exchange for being pushed, who will raise the bar and tell you the truth.
They’re not in your business, but they’re in your shoes.
Finding a peer group and working with them, intentionally and on a regular schedule, might be the single biggest boost your career can experience.
I didn’t have a good peer group losing my weight. Wish I did but I KNEW when the weight came off my support people had to change. I had to find friends with my interests, who didn’t want to just eat out to be sociable, and more. I created PNP not to just help other women but to help ME. If my life was surrounded with people trying to live healthier then it would be a lot easier for me to do it for the rest of my life.
These days I’m working on making a stronger network around me. I have a wonderful online community but I want to lead the people around me to live healthier. I’ve noticed as I’ve added balance to my life the people around me have fell out of balance!
And, I know me. I’m a leader. One of my strong suits is taking the lead and marching to the beat of my own drum. So I have decided to make sure my friends and family know if you want to hang out we better be doing something. Let’s go for a walk, share some recipes, or try a new workout. There’s all kinds of cool ideas I have to try new things so watch my blogs for some of those. And my friends and family better watch out! I’m getting your asses moving.
