During my 100 pound weight loss journey I slowly over 12 years built out a home gym.
Back in the day, 12 years ago, I had a little kid who HATED going to the gym day care. I just couldn’t leave him and knew I needed to figure out how to workout at home.
Committing to my exercise was non-negotiable for me. If I had to get up early, do it at home, or get crafty that’s what I would do. I just knew the only way I would lose weight and keep it off was if I made it easy on myself to get things done.
I decided to take away my excuses and have plenty of options for when life threw me curve balls!
This video will show you everything I started with back in the day and we tour my current gym.
You’ll also hear how exercise saved my life.
- Basic Step Bench (optional but super handy)
- Resistance Bands
- Dumbbells ranging from 5-10lbs.
- Stability Ball

I also recommend getting some workout DVDs if you need some instruction.
My favorite program for women is Chalene Extreme. It’s older, but my clients still love it. I will bust out the Burn Intervals from that system when I want a full body cardio workout. Great modifiers!
Disclaimer! I am a Beachbody Rep (only because I love Shakeology and I need solid videos to recommend to my private clients). As someone who has lost 100lbs I can tell you honestly their systems have great instruction.
Also, check out Fitness Blender on YouTube. It’s FREE! And, for yoga I recommend www.doyogawithme.com for free yoga for all levels.
